My thoughts:
Starting and ending at the museum the Tustin Gold Rush
could be a treasure hunt for familes which would involve
retailers in the Old Town area.
The benifit would be exposure for all the stores and
businesses involved. Promotions in all locations would
use the gold rush theme.
Awards, gifts and prizes would be given out at the museum.
Each store would donate a gift. (discout gift card, item etc.)
Sponsors would get signage at the museum.
Day activites could be panning for gold, special Gold Rush
specials, sidewalk artist...the list goes on.
